- Design: Design patterns based on requirements, cultural elements, product characteristics, etc. Then, create a sample according to the design drawings. Gift boxes place great emphasis on an attractive appearance. Therefore, the colors of the printing plates used in their production are extremely diverse. Usually, for one style of gift box, there are not only four basic colors but also several spot colors. For instance, gold and silver are spot colors.
- Handmade bamboo basket packaging is purely all-natural, featuring innovative designs, durability, and low-carbon environmental protection attributes. It can be widely utilized for packaging agricultural and sideline products such as fruits, fungi, poultry eggs, food items, cured and preserved products, etc.
- Select cardboard: Generally, the cardboard for gift boxes is made of hard cardboard or long cardboard. For high-end wine packaging and gift packaging cartons, hard cardboard with a thickness of 3mm - 6mm is often employed. The outer decorative surface is applied by hand, followed by bonding and forming.
- Printing: For gift boxes, only the wrapping paper is printed, while the lining paper is usually left unprinted, at most merely dyed. Since the gift box serves as outer packaging, the printing process demands exceptionally high standards. Color discrepancies, ink spots, and damaged printing plates that compromise aesthetics are the most significant drawbacks to avoid.
- Surface treatment: The wrapping paper of gift boxes typically undergoes surface treatment. Common treatments include glossy lamination, matte lamination, UV coating, glossy varnish, and matte varnish.
- Die-cutting: Die-cutting is a vital aspect of the printing process. To ensure precise die-cutting, the cutting die must be meticulously crafted. Inaccurate die-cutting, misalignment, or incomplete cuts can adversely affect subsequent processing.
- Mounting: Typically, printed products are mounted first and then die-cut. However, for gift boxes, the process is reversed; die-cutting occurs first, followed by mounting. This approach helps prevent damage to the wrapping paper and emphasizes the overall aesthetics of the gift boxes. The mounting of the lining paper for gift boxes must be executed manually to achieve a certain level of visual appeal.
